Rambam Medical Center
Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam Medical Center) is an academic public hospital in Haifa, named after the famous medieval Jewish physician and scholar, Rabbi Moses ben Maimon. Founded in 1938, it now has 1,000 beds, making it the largest medical facility in Northern Israel and the only tertiary care center in the area, providing medical services to 80,000 inpatients and 900,000 outpatients annually.
The Center collaborates with Haifa Technological Institute’s world-renowned Faculty of Medicine, serving both as a training ground for medical students and doctors, and a base for advanced scientific and clinical research, and also houses the highly-regarded Meyer’s Children Hospital – the only pediatric hospital in Northern Israel.
At present, the Center includes 36 departments and 54 clinics, 10 research institutes, 6 laboratories and a large number of outpatient clinics. About 30,000 surgeries, as well as 2,500 cardiac catheterizations and 5,000 births take place there each year.
The Center’s staff counts close to 4,500 employees, about a quarter of whom are physicians. Over the years, the facility has evolved into one of Israel's leading medical institutions. Rambam enjoys an excellent professional reputation both in Israel and abroad and holds JCI accreditation that confirms it operates in strict compliance with international health standards.
Every year, Rambam’s Medical Tourism Department serves hundreds of foreign patients, who are attracted to the Center thanks to a combination of high-quality care, state-of-the-art facilities. Moreover, the Center’s affordable prices make treatment there much more accessible than in countries such as Germany, Switzerland or the USA.
Another reason to choose Rambam Medical Centeris the picturesque town of Haifa, by the seashore of which it is located. The city and surrounding area are rich with religious and historical monuments, as well as other great tourist attractions. This allows the hospital’s patients to combine their treatment with a vacation.
