- Received the 2003 Annual Award of the American College of Nutrition in recognition of his excellence in magnesium research and his contribution to understanding the role of magnesium in human physiology, as well as receiving an honorary life membership from the German Magnesium Society
- Received the 2010 Annual Meltzer Prize from the Israel Heart Society and the Friends of The Israel Heart Society for Important Contribution in Research of Endothelial Function in Israel
