Multiple Sclerosis

Treatment of multiple sclerosis is based on conservative methods (drugs) and rehabilitative procedures (but not in the acute phase).
Most often, after examination, the patient is sent home with a treatment plan.
There is no known cure for multiple sclerosis.
The aim of the treatment is to achieve remission of the process and to preserve a normal quality of life.

The program includes:

• Consultation of a neurologist specializing in multiple sclerosis - $ 750;
• Blood test (biochemistry, lipids, hormonal profile, coagulation, electrolytes)    - $ 770;
• MRI with contrast material - $ 1,550;
• Electromyography of limbs - $ 720;
• Visually evoked brain potentials (VEP) - $ 340;
• (hearing test) BERA test and control of balance - $ 430;
• Study of the visual fields - $ 320;
• Consultation of neuro-ophthalmologist - $ 650;
• Optional: Urodynamics and the conclusion of neuro-urologist - $ 950;
• Final consultation of MS neurologist (treatment plan) - $ 500

Program duration - 5 working days.

If а patient suffers from multiple sclerosis for a long period of time, after the screening program is completed, it is recommended to undergo rehabilitation training, conducted at Tel Hashomer rehabilitation hospital, by Professor Gabriel Zeilig.
The training program includes a unique system of Steps' simulator, physical therapy, medical gymnastics, and hydrotherapy. One day in a rehabilitation hospital (outpatient treatment, while staying at the nearby hotel) costs from $ 800 to $ 1,000. (A minimum of 15 days is recommended.)
